Memorial Service

McDonagh Funeral Directors

Every year at Christmas we hold a memorial service for all those who have passed away during the year. We invite back all the families we worked with that year to honour and remember the deceased. We are well aware of how difficult the first year after a bereavement can be. The first Christmas can often be the hardest time for loved ones. Our aim to celebrate the life of the deceased and to cherish their memories.

These memorial services are very emotional affairs. And while there may be sad moments, the service can often be uplifting to families. The love we have for our loved ones does not go away simply because they are no longer with us. Families gather to celebrate this love. The atmosphere is one of overwhelming understanding and support as many people realise that they are not alone in their grief. At McDonagh Funeral Directors we believe this Memorial Service can help families through the grieving process, by providing the bereaved with the opportunity to recall happy memories and celebrate the time they shared with their loved ones.

Every family that attends our Memorial Service receives a personalised candle and bauble that they can keep going forward. In this way, their loved one will be with them for all future Christmas festivities.
